Hetty Clare is a 58-foot narrowboat located on a highly sought-after mooring at Haggerston Wharf, just a 15-minute walk from Old Street Underground station and a 10-minute walk from Haggerston Overground station.
Constructed in 2002 by Liverpool Boats, Hetty Clare was initially purchased as a sail-away and later had its interior fitted out by Paul Simpsons Boats, known for their traditional canal boat interiors with a modern touch. Recent renovations in 2019 and 2020 have expanded the bathroom and engine room, creating additional space including a home office. The interior of the boat is bright, spacious, and offers ample storage.
Upon entering the main living area from the bow, you'll find a high ceiling and an open-plan saloon with a multi-fuel stove, leading to a galley kitchen and the master bedroom. The master bedroom features a full-height wardrobe, chest of drawers, and a double bed. The bathroom includes a compost toilet, ¾ bath with overhead shower, and wash basin. The engine room at the stern was transformed into a cozy back office in 2020, with extra storage and easy access to the engine and batteries. This space could easily be used as a small child’s bedroom.
A wooden, fully removable roof deck was added recently, providing outdoor space to enjoy the views and socialize on the wharf.
Hetty Clare was last blacked in August 2021 with new anodes installed at that time. The Barrus Shire engine receives regular servicing and the Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) is valid until December 2025.
Haggerston Wharf offers a relaxed community atmosphere, situated alongside Cycle Superhighway 1 and a short walk from both Haggerston Overground and Old Street Underground stations. Mooring fees are £12600 per year (£1050 monthly) and include a shed for storage, bike racks, shoreline power access, and fresh water. The seller will cover the 5% + VAT mooring transfer fee.
This well-maintained boat is ready for cruising and we welcome offers and inquiries.
