Reference: | 2108 Mai Tai |
Mai Tai is a lovely 60’ traditional stern narrowboat built in 2004 by Jonathan Wilson, and fitted out by Anthony M. She was fully repainted in 2021 by Braidbar boats with signwriting by Andy Russell, blacked at the same time and the cratch boards and frame were rebuilt too, along with a new cratch cover.
She is fitted out in a mix of ash, beech, and oak faced ply, with some stunning wooden details throughout, and elm effect Amtico flooring.
Steps lead from the well deck, down through glazed forward doors, into the 14’6” saloon. There is a freestanding sofa, Morso Squirel solid fuel stove (NEW 2021), Samsung TV, and a range of cupboards and shelves for storage.
Next is a split dinette, with 2 seats either side of a central walkway, cupboards under, and folding tables. This could convert to 2x singles or a spare full width double with additional boards. Glazed side panels on both sides, rebuilt by Jonathan Wilson in 2021, bring in additional light and fresh air.
The 7’9” galley follows, with granite worktops, stainless steel sink, 4 burner gas hob, Thetford oven & grill, 12v Shoreline fridge with an icebox, 12v Coolzone freezer, and lots of cupboards. There is plumbing installed for a washing machine too!
A walkthrough bathroom (5’0”) is next, with a new Compoost composting loo, corner shower with marble surround, marble wash basin and more cupboards.
The 10’0” bedroom features a 6’2”x4’0” double berth, storage under and cupboards over, with a large double and single wardrobe to the aft.
Steps lead into the engine room, with the Barrus Shire 42hp engine housed below, last serviced in October 2024.
She is centrally heated by a Bubble pressure jet diesel boiler connected to radiators and fin rads, and this provides hot water along with the engine.
12v power is via 3x 200ah domestics, with a separate starter and bowthruster supply. 240v power is via a Mastervolt 2kVa inverter, Dometic 3.5kVa travel power generator or landline. There is also a Victron Phoenix charger installed.
Lighting on board is LED throughout.
She has been tried and tested as a liveaboard boat by her current owners, and is ready to turn the key and go.
