Description

1995 Gib'Sea 472 with 5 cabins. 3 Double berths and 2 bunk cabins. 10 berths. In mast furling. Sails & Rigging

In-mast main furling, genoa furling and A2 on a top down furler. Main sail is in-mast furling type, Genoa is on a bow furler. There is also a top down furler for the A2 spinnaker. A Solent stay has been fitted just inside the forestay, this is 6mm Dyneema, which can carry the storm gib on hanks. It is demountable and is tensioned using the spinnaker halyard tensioning lashings on Colligo blocks, giving a 6:1 purchase. A 2m retractable bowsprit, Selden, has been fitted for the A2 with tack line fed back to the clutches. This together with infinite main sail reefing means she is ready for any weather and can be sailed short handed. Mast and boom is Sparcraft, rigging is 10 and 12 mm stainless 1x19, all standing rigging was replaced in 2007 and has done about 2000 miles since. Sails are Dacron, Genoa is 155%, main is not battened as it needs to furl inmast, A2 and storm gib are both new 2018, A2 was damaged and repaired. Top down furling system is Profurl, new 2018. There are four winches, two Lewmar 48's and two Lewmar 54's, all serviced April 2018. There are 5 rope clutches each side, all lines are led forward through a "garage" to the organisers and mast leaving the decks clear.

Engine

Yanmar fresh water cooled. Fitted with upgraded Balmar 150 Amp alternator with external regulator. Serviced April 2019, oil, oil filter, fuel filters, coolant and belt changed. Max Prop feathering prop, a new stainless steel prop shaft has been fitted with a flexible coupling together with a new bronze cutless bearing. A Stripper stainless steel rope cutter was also fitted, this was all completed in 2017.

Electronics & Electrics

The navigation equipment is all latest B&G, including two Triton2 displays, Zeus 7" chartplotter at the nav station, Zeus 9" at the helm.The autopilot is a B&G hydraulic unit, controlled from the helm via Zeus or via Autopilot controller, or from the nav station Zeus.A B&G 3G Broadband Radar is fitted, showing up on both Zeus units. There is a Simrad VHF at the nav station with a full wireless remote at the helm, which has intercom facility.A SeaMe radar target enhancer is fitted at the top of the mast, with controls at the nav station. An AIS transceiver is also fitted, showing targets on both chartplotters Bow thruster fitted, Side Power, 75kgf in tunnel. Battery size doubled to provide extended run time in difficult conditions Webasto heating system fitted, hot water piped to blowers in aft cabins, saloon and forward cabin, hot air outlets in bunk cabins. Towel rails in shower rooms heated from system, useful for warm towels or for drying gear. Heating system heats calorifier for hot water to galley and showers. Heating system may be switched on remotely via Webasto App from a mobile phone, can be switched on before going to boat to ensure it is nice and warm, Webasto App also sends temperature reading from boat to mobile phone so you can decide how long it will take to heat up. The cooking is entirely electric, which is run from two Victron Energy Inverter/Chargers, 3kVA each, total 6kVA of electrical power. These units also charge batteries from shore power, at up to 240 Amps. Charging is also provided from a Balmar 150 Amp alternator on the engine. DC power for the inverters is supplied from 550 Ah AGM battery bank. The system is monitored from a Victron Energy Control Panel, which shows Volts, Amps, Battery Capacity remaining and time to go before recharging. All inverter and charging parameters can be adjusted from here. There is an automatic bilge pump, with manual override in the saloon bilge, an electric bilge pump in the engine bilge, a manual bilge pump in the cockpit with a flexible pickup hose and a high capacity manual bilge in the saloon. A Fusion stereo system is fitted, with FM, AM, CD, Aux input, USB input and DVD. The DVD works through the TV in the saloon. There are speakers in saloon, cockpit and a sub woofer is under the seating for improved sound. The Fusion unit can also be controlled from either of the chartplotters at the nav station or at the helm.

Construction and Layout

GRP construction, heavy displacement, offshore ready. Large cockpit with teak sole and seats. Waterproof seat cushions fitted 2016. She has five cabins, three are double cabins, two are bunk cabins, two bunks in each. Each aft cabin has a hanging locker, drawer below the bed and cabin length shelf for storage. They also have under bed storage, two opening portlights, opening overhead hatch with roller shade, heater hot air outlet, reading lights and cabin lights. Forward double has one hanging locker, one locker with shelves and cabin length shelves for storage. There is also a large amount of storage below the bed. Ventilation is via two opening portlights and a large overhead hatch with roller shade. Lighting is via two reading lights and overhead light. A hot air outlet provides warmth and is controlled by a fan speed controller. There is also a 230 Volt power socket Each of the bunk cabins has two bunk beds, with lee sheets, a hanging locker, open lockers at the end of the beds and storage under the lower bunk. A hot air vent provides heat and two portlights and an opening hatch, with roller blind, provide ventilation. Lighting is via reading lights and overhead light. The saloon is very large and airy with high level windows the length. There are also two small overhead hatches and a large overhead hatch. The dining table seats eight in comfort. The galley has twin stainless sinks, pressurised hot and cold water, heated from immersion in calorifier or heating system. There is a large top loading fridge and a top loading ice box which can be turned into an extra fridge or freezer. A double burner electric induction hob and combination convection, grill, microwave unit takes care of the cooking. There is ample cutlery and dish storage space. An electric kettle is also provided which plugs into one of three electric sockets. Refuse storage is at forward end of counter. There is a high level locker, high level shelf and storage drawers with sliding wire baskets for food storage built into the back of the saloon settee. Aft of the galley is another locker with grab bag, flares and emergency equipment. Off the saloon are two heads and two showers, in three cabins, the showers also have heated towel rails run from the Webasto heating system.

Safety Equipment

There is a six man liferaft with hydrostatic release, serviced 2018, release fitted 2018, in a cradle at the transom. There are two horseshoes, a Danbuoy with an LED strobe light, a boat hook and a bathing ladder to assist recovery. Both of the chartplotters have Man Overboard buttons. A grab bag is in a locker in the saloon together with an offshore flare pack, new 2018. There are five stainless folding padeyes for attaching harnesses in the cockpit and jackstays both sides of the deck. There are four eye-spliced nylon three strand warps, six fenders, one large ball fender and a step fender. There are also day shapes, anchor ball and motor sailing cone which fold up for storage.
