Description

This is a bespoke 60 ft semi-trad hybrid diesel/electric narrowboat, built by Fernwood as an ideal off-grid liveaboard.

The boat is gas-free, and the batteries hold 800+Ah at 48V. This is plenty for at least several days cruising on electric or staying in one spot for.a week without running the diesel engine.

Steel shell by Alexander Boats.

The hull was hot zinc sprayed in 2019, followed by two part epoxy. This came with a 10 year warranty.

We have found that this boat can easily cruise for several days on electric, then on diesel the next day to recharge the batteries. This is with the usual fridge, freezer, hob and oven, TV, satellite and dvd, electric kettle and coffee machine, plus of course the washing machine all being used exactly as normal.
It's very pleasant being able to travel the waterways silently, under electric power, and all things considered, life on board this boat is very comfortable!
